CB would be great if it wasn't for CB'ers.

There are two types:

i) "10-4 good buddy d'yall fancy an eyeball to see ma cowboy boots and watch me line dance with ma cousin wife breaker break we gotta convoy and I jerk-off to Dolly Parton".

ii) "Hey you, you Censored muppet. Get the Censored off my Censored channel you Censored Censored Censored I've got a Censored 100 watt Censored burner and I'll Censored play my Censored music on any Censored channel I Censored like. Censored Channel 19 is MY Censored channel. Censored Truckers can get to Censored "

The rest realise this and get an Amateur Radio License and become doctors or IT specialists.........

Worst types are the ones who work with radios all day........ Whistle

No question, CB is an idiot magnet in towns, but when out in the middle of Salisbury plain or any other greenlane area for that matter, it can come in handy. I've found it allows groups to stay in touch across greater distances than with PMRs .
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Absolutely Thumbs Up

Due to the mobile installation aspect of CB, and the fact that it works in the lower frequency range of the spectrum, the CB will always beat the PMR446 for range - the PMR446 being, by definition, a hand-portable radio with a fixed antenna.

I'm only kidding about my dislike for CB. I've spent many happy hours (illegally Shocked ) chatting on air-waves somewhere about the CB spectrum. Haven't used one for about 20yrs though.....
