| caravan reversing camera is it possible |

has any one connected a reversing camera on the caravan to a D4 with surround cameras, if so how was the connection made and did you need to use a GVIF unit
thanks in advance for any answers as this will enable me to make the decision when ordering the new D4 Tintenter

I haven't done this but if you search evil bay, it is possible to find a system for a wireless camera gizmo that transmits to a dash mounted monitor. So if all else fails, that could be an option.

thanks for the reply Bill , looking to avoid having a separate monitor, as I have got used to it being on the sat nav screen on the D3, currently have it set up to auto switch when reverse selected via the GVIF unit and have a separate switch box to be able to choose between standard reverse view and the towbar or rear of caravan, so looking to set up some thing similar, just trying to find out what I might or might not be able to achieve. Have a good search on here, think it was wilkjo who did it.
Way to do so was using a spare video in on the GVIF and running a cable to a transceiver mounted and powered in the boot. Caravan then has a similar setup with a transceiver in the locker then wiring running to the camera mounted at the rear.
This should provide a constant and reliable video signal MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)

that is similar to what I have now, but unsure if the reverse function from the surround camera's would over switch when reverse is selected, I will continue to do the research. Tintenter
