Car dilemma

I've currently got two cars a 2005 Discovery 3 manual in a 2010 Range Rover 4.4 tdv8

My favourite car has always been a Range Rover however I really do like the practicality and how robust the discovery feels, what I would like is a mixture of the two and perhaps to consolidate to one car. As much as I love my Range Rover I really do think the discovery looks better when it's kitted up and has a proper apocalypse survival look to it Laughing

Logically I think the only compromise would be a Discovery 4, I get the automatic that I want I get the practicality and robustness I want however I'm really concerned about the horror stories of crank failures

Because of that I wonder whether it would be best to get a later year Discovery 3 with the 2.7 engine as I've had no issues with that so far, engine wise anyway

Basically I'm just looking for people's opinions on what they think about the situation if anyone's.got any ideas

You could get a petrol D3 V8 which is the best of the best of the best. Engine is rock solid.

Regarding crank - sucks if it happens Big Cry
