Bumper ripped off!!
Need some advice...
I was at a pay and play today and accidentally ripped my rear bumper off twice. Never happened before and I don't think I was abusing the disco anymore than normal. This lead me to start googling for some sort of rear skid plate but can't find any.
Does this happen a lot (I've done a lot of bashing in the disco before but never ripped it off....)?? What does everyone else do about it?
What normally happens is the spare wheels acts as a buffer and a skid plate but not on this time. What can I do in terms of protection for the rear bumper?2011 - 09 TDV6 HSE (Written off Nov 2012 - The water didn't look that deep.....)

It can happen when the rear drops into deep bomb holes and the like...the bumper edging acts like a scuttle ...here is DiscoDunc showing us how to do it properly

Don't think a removable tow bar would help with that one I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

Oops!!! Is that why they call him discodunc?!?!
Not sure a removable tow bar would have worked for me either!
Steel bumper? You mean remove the plastic and leave the huge piece of steel exposed! That'll solve the problem!!!2011 - 09 TDV6 HSE (Written off Nov 2012 - The water didn't look that deep.....)

it was left on the motorway in France - it had 4 good reversing sensors as well
it returned back to its normal shape after it got twisted, and you couldnt tell it had been ripped off Duncan

Ah, ok, I see what you mean.
Are there any products that fit the original Bumper and act as a skid plate at all?2011 - 09 TDV6 HSE (Written off Nov 2012 - The water didn't look that deep.....)

Try mantec as they did stuff for the G4 vehicles but it would cover the spare wheel as well most likely and be a right pig if you got a flat. TBH it wont save your bumper anyway as things like that will ride up and catch it anyway. thats why people like above get the metal ones as there is no plate to go overthem unless you copied the mantec type ones and stuck an extra inch out on them and had it as s lip but it wouldnt look good.FFRR Owner, very nearly became a D3 owner
Test piloted a new D4 XS SDV6.. Gone and being forgotten i hope!!
