All I know is the ones I use which are quite large and thick will not go into the chassis hole unless you cut the chassis
Perhaps you have the mecanno version

Martin,yes,local engineering company made them up....as others have said the suppliers of the tubes only do full sets and don't supply stand-alone fixings
