Hello:
Another alternative is to buy the crankshaft directly from the Russian company: dedmotors.ru, they have it for sale. Then you will have no doubts since they, as I have mentioned before, using this product have a guarantee of 3 years or 70,000 km.

The “genuine” JLR versions don’t appear to be up to much either.

What do you class as newer ones? There have been some instances of 2016 cranks snapping. Just re-read your post and see that you said new ones, not newer.
Having said that LR have been telling us for 73 years that they’re getting better!

Yes i just rebuilt a 2016 with a cracked crank. LR told me that the latest crankshaft had been upgraded to prevent future problems i dont know when they were upgraded or what they mean by upgraded? We came to the conclusion that if they called it an upgrade they werent admiting there was a fault with the previous design. Andrew

They know damn well that there’s a fault, they’ve all but admitted it in other countries, but are digging their heals in with regards to the UK.

Long term it’s likely to be Land Rover’s loss as long term owners move away from the brand, never to return. I am one of those after 25 years of LR ownership the crank on my 2016 d4 landmark failed at less than 20k miles and under 2.5 years old, unlikely to ever buy another LR product unless it’s an old defender or similar

Land rover have moved away from this engine and now use a 2.0ltr 4 cyl or I believe the new 3.0ltr is a straight 6 Andrew
