This problem can occur on vehicles with the Denso navigation system - Discovery 3/LR3/Range Rover Sport up to and including 2009MY and Range Rover L322 from 2006 to 2009 MY inclusive.
The fix is to burn a DVD with the image of the YIA500010 service disc.
This process takes approximately 45 minutes. You should place the vehicle on charge to prevent low voltage from the battery corrupting the repair.
- Burn the ISO file to a blank DVD-R disc at as slow a write speed as possible.
- Turn ignition key to Position I. If the dashboard warning lights are on then this is Position II not Position I.
- Remove the navigation map DVD from the navigation computer. This is under the left hand front seat on the D3/LR3 and RRS and in the left hand boot panel on L322.
- Put the newly burnt service disc in the navigation computer.
- Watch the sat nav screen, you should see a progress bar.
- The repair takes approximately 45 minutes.
- When the repair is finished remove the service disc and replace with the navigation map DVD.
