A very frequently asked question is how to remove the tow bar lock, as the keys are often missing or snapped or the lock is jammed.
Unfortunately, the same information can be used to steal tow bars which are a popular item to fit to vehicles without.
Many site members have had tow bars stolen, and although it is not suggested that any were as a result of information posted on DISCO3, the community should do all it can to prevent further thefts
So, do not be offended if, when you ask, you are not given the information to remove the lock without the key. This is particularly the case if you are new to the site and have little or no site history. You will receive instead this standard answer:
How to Replace the Tow Bar Lock
- Purchase a replacement lock from your local Land Rover dealer.
- Part number KNW500010, retail price ~£11 before discount.
- If replacement of the lock is not obvious from the replacement lock, ask your Land Rover dealer for assistance.

All site members are politely reminded NOT to publish any alternative removal method on the site. Even sending information via PM could lead to it falling into the wrong hands accidentally.
