Yet another spare wheel theft thread.
Before I start, I know I should of bought a protector and had planned to do it later this year as one of my to do jobs. Really regret not doing it now for obvious reasons.
Worst thing is I don't even know when/where this happened, just that it was some time between 8th and 13th of July whilst we was staying with relatives in Romsey (Hampshire).
Whilst staying with them we visited a number places (Bournemouth (parking in a council car park), Paultons Park, Longleat Safari Park and Romsey itself.
I very much doubt it was at Longleat as you need a ticket to even get to the car park so presume Bournemouth (despite it being ridiculously busy - surely someone would have seen?) Or Paultons (massive car park stright off a main road with no security to have to get through to get to the car park and limited CCTV coverage).
I can't see it being outside my relatives house either as during the night every window was open fully due to it being hotter than the sun down south....
If anyone sees a spare wheel for sale (same as the wheels on the picture from my gallery with a general grabber AT) in Dorset, Wiltshire or Hampshire - please let me know! Although I've come to terms with the fact I'm probably not going to see it ever again and surely they won't be stupid enough to sell it in the same county?!
I leave Yorkshire for one week and this happens.....

this wheel
Will keep my eyes posted on local ads. Heard of a few go missing at a local Premier Inn but without the protector you really are open to the elements out there
Was in London last week visiting a friend and was looking at a smart black D4 HSE parked opposite his house and noticed no spare wheel - highly likely another one gone
You should be able to pick another wheel up fairly cheap (hopefully not nicked) and get that RLD plate bought Stolen - D4 Loire Blue

That's the one!
scrot bags.
Police won't review the CCTV at Paultons Park because we was there nearly 7 hours, they have said there would be too much CCTV footage to watch.
During the process of them stealing it - have they completely knackered the mechanism? (i.e. is there anything other than I spare I need?) I'm quite ignorant to what was under there as I've never had to use it. But sods law I will get a puncture whilst I'm driving without a spare...
Can't have anything these days.

They have probably cut through the cable so it is likely you will need a new spare wheel winch as well.
Easy enough to fit and about £60 from memory.D4 2016 Landmark, Waitomo Grey.
D3 2005 HSE, Bonatti Grey, now sold but still comes back for servicing.

I feel your pain. It happened to me a couple of years ago and yes they cut through my cable so all in all it cost quite a bit to replace everything plus a wheel protector to prevent in the future. I still kick myself for not doing it earlier. There are some right out there all rightBelts, oil pump casing and water pump by Flack

spare wheel anti-theft
RLD and other E bay sites selling this item state This item doesn't fit Land Rover Discovery 2015 MK IV [2009-2016] SUV SUV 3.0 SDV6 4x4 2993ccm 256HP 188KW (Diesel).
Hence my confusion - thanks for responses.
Worst vehicle I have ever owned for security - plug in tow bar nicked; spare wheel etc nicked; RF key fobs are hackable by those who know how to (fob needs storing in RF blocker) and the latest wheeze I have read about is nicking the LED light units for growing well known drugs - apparently more efficient! NFU reporting 28% increase in LR thefts in last year. Pity LR does not take security seriously!

Just taken delivery of a new winch, wheel and wheel cover - and it has been modified and INCLUDES cable protection built in. Design modified winch and wheel cover. I'll post photo's later.

I agree the towbar is very vulnerable, but it’s removable so probably best removed when not used. If that’s not practicable, then swap it for a fixed towbar.
