XS Touch-screen Nav System |
|
Hi,
Starting to bottom out a spec and understand features on the D4 ~ looking at an XS at the moment.
How good is the standard Nav System which comes with the XS and what can it do if anything (other than look the part) that say TomToms etc. cannot?
Only ever had a TomTom before.
Is it upgradable re future map changes etc. and how is this done?
Thanks. 2015 D4 HSE in Corris Grey

Sat Nav OK in my XS, features similar to my (2 year old) TomTom and feels more refined than on my old HSE.
Not sure about upgrades - they used to be DVD based but think the new one is HDD Steve

You buy map updates online, receive a code and then present this to your dealer who will transfer the upgrade to the vehicle. Not actually working yet, but here's the place to keep an eye on:

My only complaint with it is the ETA, which seems to assume you will drive everywhere at 60+ It doesn't seem to know about 30 limits...

Have found my XS sat nav to be excellent. Generally the time to destination has been spot on. I have even used it on regular journeys where it has proposed out of the norm routes - rather surprisingly they have all been quicker than what I normally achieve! Club D4 XS

Sat Nav GPS Box scored through |
|
My D4 XS (had it a week yesterday) Sat Nav does not appear to pick up satellite signal. Winger gave me the diagnostic screen detail and tshows 0 satellites being piced up.
Could anyone with a D4 XS, if you Sat Nav is working as it should, can you let me know if your GPS box in the top left has a line through it or not.
It is back to the dealer this week to see if they can fix it, they say they will have to get the techy guy on the phone from Land Rover - comments that the robot forgot to plug it in when building it have been mentioned!
Apar from a couple of minor issues that will get resolved this week, I am mightily impressed with my D4 and is a bigger improvement on my D3 XS that I part exchanged than I could have imagined.

I think you'll have to remember that the standard satnav in the XS does not come with traffic information, you do need the upgrade for that Bit cheap in my opinion, but hey when you upgrade you do get the offroad bits as well... Jean-Paul
