Are these Xenons a straight swap into my XS? |
|
I've done a bit of searching and am not wholly clear, would be grateful for advice. I have an XS with standard halogens. I am thinking about upgrading to Xenons for European driving (depending on postings). I have found these part numbers and would like to know whether they're a straight swap into the XS, or whether these are adaptive Xenons that need the fancy gubbins to make them work.
P/N XBC500412 and XBC500402
When I searched the database, they seem to be listed as bi-xenons. Not at all sure what they are.
Grateful for any advice from someone in the know.
Thanks. PAGODA

Definitive part numbers here.
I've put the standard RHD Xenons into my XS, no issues etc with fitting (takes 5 minters, plug and play) but they do flicker on switch-on for a second or two - car's systems can be updated to fix this. (Geoff or Wiggs on here).

According to this, yours are LHD non adaptive, so would be OK in Europe but you'd maybe fail a UK MOT ____

Thanks. If that's the case I'll go ahead and buy. I need to RV with Wiggs at some point in the future to activate various functions on the satnav, etc, so perhaps he can do the lights then.
Cheers. PAGODA

I may be wrong, but would'nt they still have the slider behind the xenons to convert to UK roads, like mine has to convert to continental roads

Well - maybe so ... but why would LR have gone to the expense of LHD and RHD variants? ____

Cos I guess the adaption to the lense will only bend the beam, and not actually adjust permanently.....Acts a bit like the stick on Beam we used to have to fit.

I had some lhd ones a few years ago, you can do a fair bit of adjusting on them but I was never 100% happy with them.
