I think when the ccf is configured for xenons it gives them a huge whack of power on start-up to establish the spark then backs it off.
Thats what seems to happen on my car anyway.
When I retrofitted xenons on my D3XS they just flickered into life (not much flickering and not every time either).

Nooooooooo!! They are horrible, flicker like a lighthouse on steroids & look hideous. Now, in the intrest of public service, I'll take them off your hands & find a suitable home for them?
If that doesn't work, the flicker is nothing to worry about. I had them from SWMBO SE on my S, unfortunately had to hand them back when we sold it.
