Xenon 2014 on 2012 Sdv6

I bought this car a while back now and never realised for a while that the lights don’t ‘flash’ when pulling the stalk unless the lights are on and engine running !
Obviously it’s something to do with them being upgraded lights , they were on car when I bought it.
The blue main beam Light flashes and I hear a sort of ‘clunk’ noise (relay perhaps) but they will only flash when lights are on and car running.
Has anyone experienced this and if so what do I need to be able to flash main beam with only Daylight running lights on?
Thanks in advance

I have the same problem.....just got my Gap iid BT today. I believe it's a coding issue...going to have a play tomorrow.

you have to go into the IID tool and disable dual beam headlights, the CCF still thinks there are two bulbs (1 for dipped and 1 for main) so it doesnt provide power to the shutters when you flash the headlights but will when you switch them to main beam. The flash function isnt an MOT fail so if you cant do it then its not critical.

you need to speak to Pat at GAP though to get the in depth features unlocked on you IID Tool (its free to unlock it IIRC) otherwise you wont see the option to change the dual beam settings

Just out of interest has anyone sorted how to dim the DRL when the indicator is turned on, is it possible on a pre 13.5 vehicle fitted with later headlights with DRLs

when i converted my headlights the DRL strips were always the same brightness regardless of indicators, however i did notice that they were a lot dimmer than those post 2014 that had standard fit DRL strips (which did dim with indicators)

i presumed it was due to minor differences in voltage feed to the LED between pre 2014 and post 2014 Question

Yes mine have the bright DRLs when the car turns on and then they drop to a lower setting if sidelights or headlights are turned on, but they stay at the same intensity if the indicators are on, so bright if no lights are on or dim if the side or headlights are in use. I just wondered if the light control module needs to be updated or replaced with a later unit, I assume there is no wiring difference (but am probably wrong)

Dim DRL when using indicator

Re my post above - Pat from GAP says this is not a coding change to fix with the IID so might leave this as is for now
