Went to Woolacombe sands site a couple of years ago.
The beach is huge and even has a large section where dogs are allowed - to the left of the small stream.
Great waves for body boarding and surfing if you are into that.
I remember parking was a bit limited and costly - both main car parks charged by the day so not good if you only wanted a couple of hours.
If you get the weather I'm sure you'll have a great time

Fantastic coastline with incredible beaches. Woolacombe is fantastic, as is Croyde - when in Croyde, visit the award winning Aunt Sally's for best cream tea in Devon.
Also head down towards Barnstable but turn of in Wrafton (I think) for Crow Point. Its the far end of Woolacombe, empty beaches and looks across the lagoon ( well estuary of 2 rivers) towards Instow (my favourite) and Appledore.
Great place to be, you will really enjoy it2 x D3's (Twins)

Love Woolacombe, we've dragged the shed down there a few times over the years and were down there at Easter.
Can't recommend this place highly enough if you want decent food and a friendly welcome - http://www.crowninnwestdown.co.uk/ (no connection at all despite the owners having the temerity to have the same surname as me!).Previously owned an '08 D3 HSE in Stornoway grey but jumped ship to see what the Swedes have to offer.
