Wood burning stove/tent heater

Evening all.

I've been in discussion with the manufacturer of a wood burning stove/tent heater & would like to canvas some opinion, not sure how to do it as a poll, however the thought is that we may be able to get them on board as a site sponsor, it would help Martin if it could be shown that there is interest in a product that has had it's initial design altered to better suit our needs.

The current product has a 60mm (2.1/4") straight flue, the design change is to increase the flue size to 101mm (4") & add a 45° angle to allow it to be used through the side wall of an awning/tent.
The overall idea is to have a package exclusive to D3 & sister sites although further details need to be sorted but thoughts so far have been along the lines of stove, flashing kit, spark arrestor, storage bag.

This particular product has been chosen because it it is light, compact and efficient

At Martin's request i haven't named the company, your thoughts comments & a Y/N vote to mark potential interest is appreciated.

Thanks for taking the time to read this (if someone can explain/help me to add a poll it would be appreciated).
 Paul.

Can't help with the other stuff, but I can help with the poll bit.....from the FAQ section

How do I create a poll?
When you post a new topic (or edit the first post of a topic, if it is your post and you have permission) you should see a Add Poll form below the main posting box. If you cannot see this then you probably do not have permission to create polls. You should enter a title for the poll and then at least two options. To set an option, first type in the poll question and then click the Add option button. You can also set a time limit for the poll, 0 being an infinite amount. There will be a limit to the number of options you can list, which is set by the administrator

So to be clear - the differential between this and the other types already available is because of a 45deg flue angle it can be used under my awning? As I'm currently researching to buy something to use under my awning I'd be interested in more detail.

IMHO I think price point and portability/'packability' will also play a huge point in the success of this

Good luck and thanks

James I'm limited to what details I can give at the moment but essentially yes.
Approx 10kg compared to Eldfel at close to 15kg & the Wildo at 19kg, it all packs into a neat carry bag.

The change in flue is to allow exit through a straight/vertical sidewall of an awning (think Hannibal, HM), tent (think Oztent) or possibly RT Annexe rather than the roof. It also means that the firebox will sit away from the wall
(Thread on here showing Wigg's kit through a Foxwing wall which is at an angle)
Most units have a straight flue designed to go through a roof (think tipi). To accommodate the angle be flue needs to be 4" for sufficient draw so I'm advised.

Obviously realise price an issue just trying to guage initial interest at the moment.

Current RRP is £150 ish obviously looking to better that & hopefully get a good package type deal though there are a range of accessories.
Discussions so far have included getting forum members to provide feedback, & suggestions which could end up benefitting all.

How big is the fire box? I'm saving up for the Eldfell Pro 15 due to is large box and ability to take a decent sized log Wink
