I did that but it made no difference, did it 15 times but the light goes out straight away.

What is the fault then? The glow plug light doesn't stay on long enough "Never keep up with the Joneses. Drag'em down to your level. It's cheaper".

It has several, the glow light goes out very quickly (maybe 1 second) regardless of how cold it is (unlike the D3 which stays on longer in cold weather) and it is hard to start in the cold.
Now the airbag light is on as well.
I think the glow plugs aren't working and constant cranking of engine has caused a voltage spike causing the airbag light to come on.

My wifes merc also doesn't seem to use its glow plugs much in the cold. However it does seem to have an automated start sequence as it cranks for longer in the cold regardless of whether you are holding the key over or not. It alwasy starts smoothly though unlike the D3, just sometimes cranks for longer. Glow Plug light is always just on for a second or so only.end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......
