Wiring Winch Switch In-Dash
Hi all,
My D3 came with its warn winch, However, it is wired direct to battery and doesnt have a kill switch.
I'd like to put a small switch in dash to be able to control power to the winch for safety puroses. For that I'm guessing all that will be needed is a big chunky solenoid such as the types that come with split charge units? plus additional wiring and switch to run into dash area.
Can anyone tell me if I on the right path or talking a load of rubbish!

That's what I've done on mine. I've got an Albright solenoid attached to the side of the airbox with the controls coming inside to a switch pack I've made with rear work light, roof beacons, rear strobes and front strobes on it.
I really should add a kill switch outside the vehicle incase there is an issue when winching.1972 Range Rover Classic 2 door V8
