Wired phone - possibly 6310i
Hello,
Would like to put a hands free kit in my SE. I don't have the steering wheel controls - but there are buttons to control a phone on the stereo.
I'm after a nice elegant solution that doesn't have additional screens/wires, and doesn't need to be bluetooth (such as the Parrot that I had on my D2). I like the idea of being able to dial using the keys on the stereo and have an old Nokia 6310i that I don't use any more that I could stick a sim in. Call me old fashioned, but I still like the idea of a carphone on a separate number!
What would I need please to enable my 6310i to work with the car please? I fitted the Parrot to my D2 with the high-line Alpine audio, so don't mind getting under the hood!

I have had a full car kit fitted for my Nokia 6233i, which comes with stereo interface, so it mutes the stereo when the phone rings and then the audio is routed throuh the stereo speakers. The kit also has a smart button, which when pressed and held down enables you to be able to use the voice recognition on the phone so not touching the phone at all and keeping within the law.
Comes in at about £250, but well worth every penny if you use it alot - I do around 20,000 a year, so the disco is my 2nd office.Wish I had a D3, but at least I now have a Landie - YIPEE
I agree, the PTI kit works very well, I don't even have to take the phone out of my pocket

JC - I believe only the LR kit fully interfaces with the Radio to let you use the buttons on the radio. If that's not the case someone like TFC will no doubt prove me wrong shortly. LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Not 100% sure, I think it may depend on spec and age of you vehicle - contact The Large One he had good knowledge when I spoke to him about this last week.LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.
