On my petrol V8 ('98 Disco 1) - the heating is on within cca 2minutes after start - so it is really not an issue even if it is frezzing.
On TDV6 - as said - takes some time as the engine is producing much less heat - that is why I'm getting the additional tubing and piping installed from webasto (the pre-heater is there from factory) today - so I can have the cabin and engine pre-heated via remote - before I get to the car. Do you install the nice red seat heater first and sit on it
