Below the roof rail strip you will fond some holes the front one of these is the only penetration in the roof behind the screen I can think of. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

yes, but thats about a foot back from the screen, and I would have thought if water was getting in there, its quickest way out would be above the drivers side door.

Thanks guys for the responses, I have narrowed it down that as the water runs along the gully at the top of the screen, and in behind the fixing, then it enters the car metalwork, and then leaks through a weld into the cabin. So the roof rails are not the source, nor the sunroof. I have shown it to an autoglass engineer at home and he was bemused, so I am now taking it into Autoglass tomorrow morning for them to look at. It has had new fixings twice now. Might still be that? Hope that when we take the cover off, it will become clear....
....I didn't look closely when the cover was off before so I don't know how many different seals there are which might allow water entry as well as the glue on the screen... d4 HSE

update:
Autoglass took the screen out for the third time. Said that the glue was working fine. THe problem as they saw it was that the body shell had a gap in the weld that was allowing water in. They can only think that the original trim/screen was such that the gap was covered. THey have filled the gap with some sort of glue/paste and refitted.
Water test tomorrow.....
...not really sure I buy their line that the body had a gap, searching on here I have found nothing similar d4 HSE
