Had a large rock come up off a lorry going the other way early yesterday morning, got a smashed screen with a dent the size of a tennis ball in it
Black Vue caught the whole thing so getting my excess back off the lorry company, Autowindscreens have quoted 7 days before they can fit quoted that LR cannot supply a screen in under 7 days. They actually get the screens from my dealer so I rang them to check on availability, one is due in today and Autowindscrrens are telling a few fibs
Phone call to LR insurance and hay presto windscreen been fitted Saturday This is the second screen in 6 months MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Seems to be catching!
I had my windscreen replaced on Tuesday this week after a large object hit the windscreen 10 days before. When I rang my insurance company and requested an OEM windscreen, it was accepted without any haggling. I had to wait a couple of extra days, and they picked up the windscreen from the local dealer on their way to me.
Two guys came to fit it, new clips provided, nice professional service from the AA Autowindshields. D5 2017 HSE Lux

My windscreen replacement story was going so well until I drove up the M40 and the nearside trim started to whistle like at about 80 ....then on the way back there was a pop and it started to flap about
So ...did they actually use new clips ....or did he spin me a yarn ? 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

If the clips are yellow and black, yes. The ones that come with a new trim are now grey.
And you know why I know...... because the exact same happened to me. In my case the top two clip retaining channels were pulled out of shape, letting the air get in under the trim. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Yes, I'm a little hazy about some of the details this weekend too I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Well the new windscreen trim arrived from Nick
Taking off the one that was causing the trouble after the windscreen replacement saga. I found the top locator was snapped off ...the centre clip was broken with the bent remains of the clip still in situ where the chap had tried to remove it with pliers ...the bottom three clips were missing completely ..essentially the whole thing was held in place by two clips.
So www.autowindscreens.co.uk you are clearly not to be trusted with basic requests given and accepted prior to the work commencing and neither can your oppos for saying that they have done something when that is clearly not the case

Autoglass have just confirmed that the screen they fitted 2 months ago has a failed heating element on the drivers side. They came out with a new screen and A pillar trim just in case it was needed. Arrived on time and called in advance. Good service, although I am not sure about a small gap where rubber meets roof. As long as it does not whistle I will live wiith it. 2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

I was just going to say I've had the same experience... and then re-read my post from years back to find it was Autoglass - so it would seem they are all as bad as each other! Are you sure it's really an OEM screen? Autoglass lied to me about that as well.
What I do now, is order the OEM glass from my local LR dealer and get an independent expert to fit it... you're sure of a good job on what is a 50 grand motor after all.

No... it is an LR screen. I took a photo of the coding and text on the cracked one and the new one matched up ok 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

DG take it that your screen is being done through LR insurance as was mine, via auto windscreens. First screen fitted they snapped both top locating lugs on the side trims and tried to tell me it would be OK, I had two new trims fitted the next week after a call to LR insurance. Next new screen they told me they did not replace the clips and there would be no issues with the top locating lug. I told them to bring two new trims, hey presto, took trims off and broke both top lugs again.
Service from AW was very very poor and they cleraly did not put the customer first. Have since received a refund on the £80 excess and now have new screen and two new trims complete with all new clips. MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

When auto glass did mine recently, the fitter had complete new A pillar trims and apologised for not having a new scuttle panel as he normally changes those as well.
It seems to be upto the fitter whether they order the extra bits or not, which is annoying.
Apparently you get a lifetime warranty on the screen as well, including the heating elements etc.
I would be on the phone to them DG and get them to pay for the bits you had to buy.
