You may need to pay extra to get a Pilkington, (c. £400) but this is better than a cheaper alternative.

Well i have had a non pilkington screen for some years now. No problems, all heating elements work fine cannot tell the difference.
I think you would be crazy to pay £400 unless somone can demonstrably show a benefit.
Does anyone actually know anything about Pilkington anyway ? Can we be sure they are not now owned by the Chinese anyway.
Andi.

Japanese should be ok I guess.
My dad worked at triplex, part of the pilkington (brothers) group. Remember him going to St Helens, don't know what for.

Yep, I’ve got a non Pilkington brand one. No problems since I’ve fitted it! I think it’s the same brand as they fit in some of the newer LR stuff

Used to get really worked up about this and insisted on Pilkington. Then lost the will to argue and let a non-pilkington glass in. Has been fine - bizarrely has lasted way way longer and my driving style/location hasn’t changed. Can’t tell the difference (apart from the logo!)2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +
