I hope to warm to it in time and was always going to wait for the new engines as mine is only three years old and it is too early to change. At the moment I can't stand the rear end but a short plate might help (mine is a 2x2) but I resent having to think that way on such an expensive car. I will take a look at the XC90 at some stage but hang fire on anything for a couple of years.2014MY Discovery

Not me, based on LRCS and LR dealers in general. They have and will continue to treat us with total contempt. I've never met such a company for the way they show their displeasure at people buying their products and that apart from the fact all the models are homoginious.
Was a happy D3 owner (though it was a very early model and had quite a few issues - anyone remember the tailgate struts coming undone of their own accord?) - moved to a 2012 RRS which was good but not great (ride quality was badly compromised) and now have a D5. So far, I love it - tech is up there with Tesla, dare I say., and it is RR Vogue smooth, even on 22s. Lots of interest in the car - was stopped by three different guys in Amersham this morning asking my opinion. I think it will be a big success based on the interest, which I've never experienced before.Java TDV6 HSE with Alpaca and a few other fancy bits

I bought the old PSA powered DS, many said I was mad but turns out there is high demand for them, no AdBlue, more power and bigger fuel tank. So I've no regrets about going for a tried and tested engine that meets EU6 standards. Not sure what the ingenium will offer over and above that.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

That's a really helpful definition of a Discovery, thanks!

Yep im getting one, HSE LUX 3.0l Petrol with options current, ETA September/October time.
As of this week the current thinking is we hang onto the D4 and dual run them until the D4s warranty runs out as the D5 is not going to be able to replace the D4 in totality for our needs. SWMBO doesn't like the D5 nor do the kids, SWMBO does not want to let the D4 go and came up with the idea of keeping it which I'm not too keen on to be honest. I'm pondering what to do long term.
Hoping there is some news on SVO options or models in the mean time I really need an expo rack and ladder system for the D5.MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

When I come to change my D4 in around four years time I'll probably my go to a D5 as second hand D4s will be 'too old' for me. This is all dependant on prospeed hopefully developing an expedition rack and ladder for the D5. Otherwise I'll have to go over to a land cruiser, which has always been my 'Plan B' for my requirements.D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

Fair enough, you took a risk and it didn't backfire. It could well be the same with the new engines but I'll wait and see. TBH I would have been less concerned if they released in the 300bhp form like they do on every other model.
