Whistsun week camping location...
So heading from SE London to somewhere for a week over the kids' Whistun week holidays.
Was thinking of Devon near Croyde for a week as shouldn't be too painful but also thinking about Wales or Scotland.
Concerns over weather and temperature remain - plus midges in Scotland as we were literally raped and pillaged by midges in Lakes last Whitsun
Scotland is a bit of a hike for one week especially when I'm towing the tin tent so can't "hoof it" up there.
If we did then heading over Hess's way... Kyle of Bute
Devon is a safe choice but I'm determined to get up to Scotland at some point very soon...MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)

Try a little further West - as in Wales
Gower coast is very much the same as Cornwall but with less people

Derbyshire is a good alternative as well. Plenty of cycling walking etc to do and things for the kids. We have stayed at the CC site at Carsington water.
We have been a couple of times and the kids love it

Probably too late for you but can recommend Damage Barton , really nice site and close to cliff walks , Woolacombe ( walkable) and a great pub called The Grampus in Lee again walkable.
Will be there at Whit with our silver tin tent

Good to know heading there for 10 days the first week in July stayed at Looe cc site last time in Cornwall.
