Hi Andrew, as Bodsy put, you can get too many batteries that will take the caning a YT will take but discharging it and leaving it that way is a NO-NO.
With any lead acid battery, the lower you discharge it, the shorter the life span of the battery.
With Yellow Tops, while the same is the case, Yellow Tops can be discharged more times before you start to do serious damage to them.
As to you plugs. What sort of tools are your thinking of using and as far as jump starting goes, the standard 50 amp Anderson plug is fine for jump start current loads. The 50 amp rating is the continuos current load but they will tolerate much higher loads for short periods. Loads like 180 amps for a second or two which is easily enough for jump starting.
The Anderson connectors are also available in small PowerPoles which come with either 15, 30 or 45 amp contacts. These are very small but like their big brothers, the won’t come loose while driving and there is a flush mount 2 way unit available. 2008 TDV8 RR Lux + 2009 D4 2.7
