Wheels "Squealing"

Hi.

Drove D3 yesterday after 2 days of sat on drive. Temps been down to minus 6

Was Ok to start and after stopping at shop for 5 mins drove off only to hear loud squealing from the front offside.

My boy thought it maybe ice on the brakes so braked very hard and it seemed to go away after a bit.

No lights on to warn me of brake issues.

Is this common? Should I get it checked out?

Also on another thread re starting car and locking to warm up. On the TV on Sunday Quentin Wilson suggested starting car and physically locking with the other key, dont use the Fob. He reconned that this would work and not turn the engine off.
Is this true on a D3?

Squealing - Park Brake would be my guess. If it keeps happening it will need adjusting before it binds on. Plenty of posts on here about EPB.

Locking the car like that won't work. There has been a post about it in the last couple of days as well. Trying having a quick search on "locking" and it should be one of the first few results returned.

There is the option to add the fuel burning heat switch or switch and GSM remote call so you can call the car and get it to warm up for you before you go to get in. Looks for FBH and GSM for info on this.

If it was the front, it won't be the EPB. Probably just sticky brakes, I had it to.

Embarassed

Sorry didn't read "Front offside" defaintely won't be EPB! Not unless they put the body on the wrong way round. Whistle

Well spotted Andy!

Stu/Countrywide. Thanks for the response. Will keep an eye on it. Touch wood my P/Brake has not shown signs of issue - I bet this is tempting fate.

I have seen lots about the FBH on various posts.

Dumb question - are these aftersales fits or do certain models come with them as standard?
