Hey Desert Traveller, thanks for the info, it is our club UHF and we are aware of what you have posted. We only use it locally, when we venture off elsewhere we change to a different station. Ive just had it on there a while . Thanks Pierre, I like em as well , the rims are GMAX rims, 18 x8.5, I cant remember exact name but they are the only ones suited for D3's. Google GMAX wheels and you should find a supplier your way, in fact I think mine came from Perth. I will double check on Monday with my tyre supplier.
4x4intelligence.com.au wheel carriers are made in sunny Melbourne; utilise a locking gas strut, and use a user-friendly door-style latching mechansim. FYI.

Thanks PierreJ for the description and price.
I am trying to get a copy of the magazine article from 4x4. What do mean the 'whole light disappears" - is there a light on the carrier that disappears?
The price is about what the local dealer is charging. But they are working out an installation price as they have not done them before.
Evan - depending on the length of the arm on the carrier, and the size of the tyre you're carrying, then the light on the driver's side can be partly obscured. For the 4x4i carrier, with a standard tyre, the lights are still clearly visible; we are looking at a replacement for the bumper reflectors to help with visibility if carrying the larger tyres - mind you, i'm running 32" tyres and drivers side lights still clearly visible from the rear, just at an angle they well - still better than some eg. some larger tyyres on a 'cruiser...

With the 4x4intelligence carier, I recall there is not a local supplier/installer (Brisbane/Sunshine coast) and so I would have to do it myself. How difficult is it to install? (I can do some basic drilling arnd bolting - am probably at about the advanced ikea stage.
