Gave my car a good clean yesterday and was shocked to see how badly pitted the rear arches are after only 1500 miles. Could this be the 20" wheels, lack of mud flaps (soon to be remedied) or do all D4's suffer this regardless?

My rear arches look highly shot blasted - have since added the mudflaps; could say if it has worsened. That is all on 19" wheels; so not the 20"s fault.

Mine are the same and on 19's not 20's. Bought second hand with 12,000 miles on clock, mud flaps straight on and doesnt seem to have worsened much. Could really do with new/resprayed rears but you only notice when cleaning so I'll live with it for now!

I can't see how wax would help, but mud flaps might offer a bit more protection. I know that Porsche put clear plastic on the arches of the 911's, probably a bit too much to expect from LR
