Whats the reality of Stealing a D4?

Hi all, i haven't read many threads of D4's being stolen (fortunately), what is the reality of our car being stolen?....do the scum bags need to steal the keys from home?...are there many other ways of stealing our pride and joy?
Do i need to purchase any additional security devices, such as steering wheel lock?

Kind regards Andrew. Rolling Eyes

I think the best thing about nicking - or not nicking new ones - is that the gear shift doesn't appear out of its recess until the key is detected inside the vehicle so it can't be drive off or towed. No steering lock required.

What gear shift? Out of what recess?? I presume this is no different on all international models so can you please explain. Either that or the gearshift just hangs out in the south hemisphere from gravity

There is no gearshift lever on 2012 models, just a metal dial that rises up from the recess when the ignition is switched on .............. well here in the UK anyway ? Wink

Not that I have a 2012 model, but I understand that in Oz, we're still getting the 6 speed transmission, not the 8 (which means no rising knob for a gearshift and we still have the knob for sand/rock/etc. Hence some confusion. We also don't get the auxiliary diesel heater and heated seats - heaven forbid the seat heat gets stuck on (it was 40C today here in Perth) Mr. Green .
