I thought DVLA was an 03 number so standard rates/inclusive minutes. I have an 0300 number stored in my phone but it looks like you can now only contact them by phone if you are a key worker.

Somehow or other someone in the household managed to call a premium rate number which BT tell us is the DVLA; a search for the number on google revealed a raft of similar numbers.Currently 2009 Disco 3 SE, 2013 MY D4 HSE and 2016 D4 SE

Dyson's advert saying their vacuum cleaner creates "forces of up to 79000g". That's not a force, it's an acceleration. Grrr.....Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Multiply it by ten, then take off 10% - twice. Of course, if you were using a Dyson cleaner in a different part of the world, the local value of 'g' could differ from that in your home...

Re maths, close enough for government (Singapore or UK) work.
My children started saying "good enough for government work" at school.

I just mentally multiply it by 9.8 something or other. Easypeasy.
And it'd still be an acceleration, not a force... Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Gravity is the force by which a planet or other body draws objects toward its center. The force of gravity keeps all of the planets in orbit around the sun.

"9.8" is the acceleration due to gravity. Hence "it's still an acceleration".
Its units are m/s^2, which confirms its nature as an acceleration.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

F=ma
Force for a given mass is proportional to the acceleration, so it is entirely correct to refer to a “force of XXg”. An ex-Disco3 / FFRR owner ......
