These vehicles can get very expencive to repair if you just use guess work, the key to quick and cheap repairs is in correctly diagnosing the fault.

Couldn’t agree with you more.
No point stabbing around in the dark....
Shall purchase one of the scanners you’ve suggested.
First stop is a fault code scan...... unless it’s a mechanical issue.....
Going to try removing the air suspension fuse (f26 or f22? In engine bay?) after getting the car in off road setting....and see how it looks in the morning.....as a starter, no harm in doing that I don’t think.
Thanks

Good evening all,
Looking forward in collecting my Disco 3 in 2 weeks time (Covid guidelines being followed).
This will be the first venture into the Disco world as for the last 30 years it has always been Defenders, so some nerves, but I'm guessing like all Land rover products, cursing, finding patients, joining a decent forum and maybe a little money being spent on your pride & joy, nothing is insurmountable!
I look forward to testing your knowledge over the next week & months
Best wishes
Chris

Ken here - AKA Nudge. Been a member for some years with a few posts - at one point in my life i had the 16th oldest Landrover in the LR register. Long gone. WHat I've found OUTSTANDING about this forum is the knowledge and experience shared by the members and is my go-to diagnostic first stop. Has saved me lots of pain and money. Keep going my friends!

Saying Hi
Hi All, thought I’d join after months of lurking, very informative forum. I’ve embarked on trying to bring my 2007 Discovery 3 back to good condition after five or six years of being used pretty much solely for moving bulky things around, dog walking and going to the tip...
I’ve done a few initial bits - refit various bits of internal / external trim, replaced stereo etc. Autec reader due tomorrow. Next things to get sorted are EGR blank, oil pump, transmission flush & EPB check / fix (park brake hasn’t been used for ages but I seem to remember an awful screeching noise) - I’ll be searching the forum for tips.
Not looking to make it too flashy, just back to nearly good as ex factory and if I can slightly better where it counts.
Thanks!

New to the Disco LR fraternity
Hello from Carlisle in the Lake District. I'm new to the LR3 world, having been hounded by my brother who has been an avid Defender owner for years. He told me that the Disco 3 is the best option as a town / work vehicle but can also go off-roading with him when I fancy...He wasn't wrong. I love it 8)

Will I regret it?
Evening all!
Sadly, my good old Disco 2 is succombing to rust. Again. Needing something reliable for work (I've practically got a regular slot booked in to the garage each month), the local LR independant has set me up with a hopefully very nice D3. Question is, even though it's got more torque than my V8, will I lament it's passing. Well - of course I will; it's been a great car for the last 270k miles .
So - onwards we go with this new one, when it's ready for collection. I look forward to keeping up with things on the forum.
Edit:- New one picked up, lovely drive, similar outright power but greater torque and a wee bit of turbo lag - somehtign I'll get used to and work with. Very pleased so far - looking forward to taking a proper look when the weekend comes. Just roof rails and bars to fit, then (as soon as we can move around again) the boats will be back on top!

Good evening all.
Been lurking as a guest for some time but only right that I now come out of the shadows now that I have bought the Discovery!
Have bought a 2012 Discovery 4 SDV6 HSE in Santorini Black with the almond interior. And love it.
Few bits on my list to do.. including megaflush and new fluids all over in fact. But enjoying being back behind the green oval (had defender 90sany years ago).
Look forward to helping on any discussions I can going forward.
