Hello all,
New to Land Rover ownership and started with a discovery 3 V8. Only a little bit scared. Already had three amigos which turned out to be a battery cell. Phew.
Based in Essex, currently just using it as a general family hack but hope to get the opportunity to do a bit of green landing in the future. Especially if I can just rock up, crack on and hopefully not break too much!

New member ahoy! Hailing all the way from Nottingham.
Not an owner (yet) but am doing a lot of cost analysis and googling. All the while hoping my wife doesn't straight up divorce me when a D3 appears on the driveway.
I'm looking to get a D3 and use it offroad, there is a whole world of skills I want to learn including getting my hands dirty under the bonnet.
So, that's me.

Hi everyone, I’ve just joined the disco 3 family, having previously had disco 1’s, Range Rover classic, p38 and a defender 90.
Bought myself a 2005 tdv6 hse, one owner, full history and 97k.
Really happy with the car so far, and the mods have already started.
I thank you all in advance for the help

Hello all. Just joined so introducing myself.
Not an owner at present but may become one in the near future. Currently in the process of moving house and will be getting a place with a bit of land, so will need a decent 4x4 to use as a workhorse. My current car (2017 Volvo XC90), whilst brilliant, isn’t the right thing to be chucking tools or logs into and then driving round muddy padlocks, so likely be getting rid and replacing with something a bit more utilitarian. Plus with the new mortgage payments I need to stop making car payments!
Likely get a 2005/2006 Disco 3, ideally HSE spec (maybe SE). Have concerns about Land Rover reliability so here to learn what I can about common issues/ what to look out for.

Hi all,
Just joined the Disco family(2007, 2.7, auto, HSE,188000km from Germany), having lived in central London, couldn’t afford the space/cost a landy. Now I moved back to Romania and a car such as this is well justified.
So far, I’ve done 500km and the thermostat housing snapped mid-journey, awaiting delivery of parts. Not the best start for my first real 4x4(had a Subaru Leone 1986).
Also, if I’m in a queue and the car doesn’t come to a complete stop, when I accelerate, I hear a sound like someone tapped a hammer under the car, then I feel like the car is pushed from behind, but it only happens when in motion, never from a full stop. Anyone have an idea, please?
Happy to be part of this great community!

Welcome
Just signed up, been away from the brand for a while now, but after recently borrowing my father's D4 for a week I am in the process of looking for a D3 to add to my fleet.
Will no doubt be trawling the classifieds looking for the right beast.
Great site, been having a browse around, I hope I can contribute something worthwhile in the coming months.

Morning
Have just put a deposit down on a 2016 Discovery 4 Graphite, pick it up in a couple of weeks.
We have been a Land Rover family since 1993, I still have my 1959 Series Two, my wife drives a freelander 2 and I currently have a Discovery 2. Someone managed to reverse his lorry trailer into the front of that though, whilst it was in the local Land Rover dealership car park! It will probably be a write off 😡
Hopefully may help in getting a discount on the disco 4 though!
Have been reading through the site and there is obviously a lot to learn about modern discos, but different to my TD5!

Purchased very cheap but not going to break it just yet I like a small challenge.
Looks a very good forum so here goes
