Water connection outlet - O ring part number?

Noticed a small amount of coolant lying on the oil cooler last time I had the engine cover off and decided to treat the engine to a new outlet courtesy of Dan at Duckworths.

Changed it this afternoon in around half an hour.
When I removed the old one I noticed the O ring on the oil cooler looked quite flat and wondered if you can buy these on their own, the rear of the water outlet fits over the O ring.

Anyone know a part number

I doubt you'll get an o-ring separately!

Measure it, and get one from an o-ring/seal supplier (or ebay).
O-rings are specified by the inside diameter, and the diameter of the section. Nitrile 70 (the o-ring material) should work fine for coolant.

Let me know if you are struggling, I buy o-rings very regularly for work.

Personally, I would choose the one for the correct engine. 2.7 or 3.0.
Also given the small price I would try a LR psrt over pattern.

Cheers for the replies, however its not those ones (they come supplied with the outlet.
Its the O ring that is part of the oil cooler assembly shown in the attached
I've measured the bore on the plastic outlet and its 26mm

Hi mate

Couldn’t find the O rings separately for the oil cooler

May be cheaper to buy an O ring set , just have to measure the thickness as well of the O ring u have

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw=o+...p;_sacat=0

Plus I’ve always used silicone grease for o rings

Or if u don’t want a large tub

So following the advice from Tomo47
https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/tale-2-discos-176345.html

I purchased the aforementioned O rings and fitted one yesterday
Early indications appear that the oil cooler is now clear of any coolant and the repair is holding.
Will be monitoring it over the coming days.

Approx sizes of the new O ring

Just completing this thread :
Landrover don't supply the o ring that fits it to the fuel cooler, (only a complete cooler!). You can get the o ring from Citroen/Peugeot, part number 198171

Hope they don’t read this or they’ll start copying LR’s parts pricing!
