Warranty Direct - Any tips?
So I'm thinking of getting a Warranty Direct policy for MY10 Disco, currently looking at the secure cover, is there anything I need to be asking them to include or taking out
They have quoted £575 for the 12 months (£672 on the website) this does however include the betterment clause and a 24k mileage limit.
Just wondering if anyone has any tips, I have told them I will think about the policy.
Thanks
Andy

Push for extra care, MUCH better cover, esp for a D4. You should be able to get that at that mileage. Plus you want no betterment, 13 for 12, airbags & emissions, club discount, plus whatever else we think of.

If they say "we don't do that, sir", tell them they do it for other customers and t'interweb is a wonderful place.

Just tried my negotiation skills with WD but didn't get very far. My situation is:
D4 Nov 2011 60000miles.
Extra cover.
24000 miles a year ( I asked for 15/16k and they said no extra for up to 24k)
Betterment - usually they add £50 a year to remove.
13 for 12 months - don't do this anymore (have phased out)
Won't budge on removing the 90 day W&T exclusion (unless the policy follows on from the 3 year manufacturer's warranty).
Max labour rate £60+vat. Choice is this or £200ish for LR rates. Wouldn't budge - I asked for £80+vat.
Big problem for me is not accepting non VAT garages - my mate is a top mechanic but not VAT registered so that means stepping into the world of unknown garages ( hmmm wonder of Geoff. is vat registered? )
Quotes I got were the Internet Quote plus a set £50 (for no betterment) irrespective of whether I took 1,2 or 3 years - then less 10%.
So essentially all I got was a deal on 2&3 years betterment and 10% off.
Wasn't as much as I hoped to achieve.

Been quoted £790 for my 08 SE with 75k on the clock
Without betterment
Extra care
No mileage limit
£75 + vat labour
90 day wear and tear
Trying to get the price down , it seams that you need to speak to the person that did the initial quote as it is there commission that goes down the more discount they give. So another person will not give too much away as he doesn't want to upset his colleague.
Hoping to get it to £680Andy.

Has anyone else recently negotiated a WD extra care policy and got them to agree a labour rate between the basic rate of £60+vat and the franchise rate of £200+vat?
I'm making good progress on the policy cost itself but they say they have no flexiblity to offer a rate between those 2 levels
