I have a Dec 05 TDV6S manual (with active rear diff). When moving slowly in heavy traffic, with foot on clutch, sometimes a warning will appear on dash saying "Transmission Fault Stop Safely" As this faulty occurs in heavy traffic I just ignore it and it is then followed by a warning "HDC fault System not available" and most of the warning lights come on (amber). This is quickly followed by the "Suspension lowered" message. Switching off seems to reset everything.
Two dealers claim there is nothing in the fault log so they can't fix the fault as they can't identify or re-create it.
Is anyone else aware of this fault or possible cause or fix. I need as much info as possible as I'm about to embark down the legal route to seek a resolution.
Cheers

Hi, I have a 2006 SE manual, equally with active rear diff, 20.000km.
I encountered the same problem several times (about 8 times over the last 8 months - perhaps a female car??).
I can't think of anything causing it, since it happened as well in city traffic as on open road, in rain and dry weather.
In the manual, this warning is associated with the rear diff : anyone knows more about it?
Until now, i didn't bother too much, since it always disappeared by restarting the car ("resetting" as the dealer called it, he didn seem to think it was an important issue), however I admit I'd like to have this (minor) problem solved.

I've also had this exact same scenario (also have the rear diff). It's happened twice, about 8 months apart, and I was able to reset it. Took it to the dealer but they couldn't recreate the problem and the error logs were clear. Interestingly, I recently read somewhere else about a Disco 3 owner with the same problem (same error messages, etc.) and it turned out to be a known issue (TSB) with the rear differential. In that case, the dealer replaced the rear diff per the bulletin. Good luck! 2005 LR3 HSE

Thanks guys - I was starting to think I was maybe imagining it! (although I have photos of the warnings).
Whilst browsing today I also found a few guys in USA with the same problem and, like you, they had the rear diff replaced so armed with this info it's back to the dealer on Monday

Well it's been back to the dealer and they have replaced the diff actuator (again) and so far so good - no more strange warnings! I wish they had taken me seriously 12 months ago when I told them the active diff wasn't working!
