warning -- removing rear door wheel arches
Right ...i have removed the wheel arches on various D3's many times with no problem .
Today i found that for some reason LR have used different clips on the D4 rear door arches . The original clips which are still fitted to the front and back panel arch are great as they seperate and dont break . The new ones do not seprate and are hard plastic ...so when you try and pull them off , they stay in the metalwork and rip out of the locating tabs in the arch its self . This has basically made this arch completly useless now as there is no way to re attached the locating pins
I went to LR and got 26 original D3 clips ( 13 for each side ) and replaced them , and at a cost of £20
So ...just a warning if any one has to remove the small arch on the rear doors ..be very carefull ( although i still cant see a way around it )G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Newbie so apologies in advance.
I would also like to replace the colour coded wheel arches on my D4 for the black plastic ones you would find on the commercial.
Can anyone suggest the best place to buy these from?
I see many conversion kits the other way...
Thx
Tim

Since most swing the other way (oooh err) why not place an add here for a swap?
Though this might not be relaistic as D4 might not be useful for a D3?Series 1 V8

Some additional info to this oldish original post.
I was looking at having some paint work on my rear arches to tidy up the stone chips. My painter wanted to take the rear arches off to do so.
In checking with the parts guy at the dealer, he mentioned to try not to take the rear arches off if at all possible.
They will break and they glue the arches back on.

Just a thought ! Instead the hassle involved with taking the wings off you could have them 'wrapped' in whatever colour of your choice, then if and when you wish to sell the old girl ( heavens forbid) you can revert back to its original state. Just a thought !!!

I found out the hard way too. Can anyone tell me if the two different clips are interchangeable? The two part (yellow and white) found on the rear most arch do seem to come apart easier. I wanted to repair nasty scratch and taking it off to paint meant a better job..
