[Wanted] Looking for D3 V8

Hi All,

New to the group, and looking for a nice V8 Disco 3, really looking for something which someone has looked after, I have a budget of about £5000, do you think that should get me a nice example, would appreciate your thoughts?

Recommendations and things to be wary off,

I’m excited but at the same time apprehensive as don’t want to end up with a bad example if you understand 🙈🙈

Looking forward to chatting with you all 😊

I think you may need to increase your budget unless the bottom has fallen out of the market!

If your looking that low your only destined for trouble. I bought mine for 4 years ago and I've spent more on repairs than I paid for it.

To me it's priceless

I'm not completely up to date with UK V8 prices, but in the US (where they are reasonably plentiful) the prices are surprisingly solid for good cars. I paid $13k for a 10 year old car with 65k on it. FLRSH. Immaculate. And that was a bargain.

I can't imagine you'd get much more than a headache with a wheel at each corner for GBP5k.

But good luck!

Late 2004 D3 V8 HSE 126k Bonatti Grey with Alpaca Leather

Hi, in case you’re still looking, I’m just preparing my D3 V8 for sale, it’s got no issues and has had a lot of new parts recently, including compressor, steering rack, discs, hubs, driveshafts, rear calipers. It’s got a very good LPG conversion (Emer) which is sequential injection, also with electronic injection of valve seat protection additive. I’m an ex- Landrover fuels/emissions development engineer, I’m near Slough. I’m looking for £8500. I’ll have some pictures in a few days. Comes with an IID tool and the software and cables for the LPG system.

Scotland 2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Cairns BlueDiscovery 3

I’m about to sell mine. 2004 (54) dark metallic blue (can’t remember the paint name but will get the code). Black leather interior. 163,000 miles. Lots of work done and sitting on 4 new General Grabber A/Ts. Paint has some scratches and a couple of small rust patches above the windscreen. Everything works - but it has the chain tensioner rattle. Serviced last month.

Not looking for a huge amount for an easy sale, so it’s within your budget level. Let me know if interested. Selling to buy a D4 and some lower fuel consumption!

Petrol D3

Hi all, I have been lurking for some months thinking of buying a D3 V8. I am a Land Rover newby so wanted to read as much as possible on the forum.

I cannot send PM's yet as this is my first post, but if any of the cars mentioned become available please let me know.

I also have about £5k and I am thinking that petrol may be better for me servicing wise, if not for mpg.
Regards
Pete.
