[Wanted] Festool Cleantec Dust Extractor 240v

Anybody got a Festool Cleantec dust extractor they might be looking to move on? Prefer 240v.

Doesn't particularly matter if it's Dust Class L or M as it's only going to be used at home.

Thanks,

Steve

Might not be what you want but this works a treat.

https://www.screwfix.com/p/titan-ttb776vac...240v/665kh

I was in the throws of buying a Mirka sander and vac having used and been really impressed with our decorators system. However, I didn't see the value in spending £700 on it all so thought I'd see what I could create. I ended up with an Erbauer sander using Mirka pads and the Titan vac. It's as good as a full Mirka system for home use and is totally dust free. Thumbs Up

The Titan vac has a power take off so that when you switch on your device the vac switches on. I now use it on my chop saw and Festool TS 55 Plunge saw and its really good. Thumbs Up

Anyway, just a thought.

That's good to know, Moo. Thanks for the recommendation.

This will mainly be used with my Mafell MT55cc plunge saw, various routers and sanders around the home and a power take off would be ideal.

I'm trying to use a perfectly functional Dyson DC14 at the moment but having some trouble finding the right hose connector to interface with the power tool dust ports. I know the Festool hose fits the Mafell so maybe I just need to buy a Festool hose adapter to fit on the end of the Dyson hose for now.

At that price, the Titan vac looks a good deal compared to the Festool. Laughing

Aldi (and therefore presumably Lidl) do a rebadged version of the Screwfix unit from time to time which also has the power take-off/start. We use them for vacuuming out the bilges on the boats we charter each week - they have lasted far longer than more expensive offerings from Stihl and Karcher that we have previously had. Current one is four years old and does well considering it has salt water pumped through it each weekend!

Yep, bought my Mafell plunge saw and guide rails from FFX.

Good to hear you like the CTL Mini as that is probably the one I would go for (or Midi).

Whatever you get, avoid the B&Q budget ones. Too loud to use out of doors for fear of annoying folk at the end of our street, 4 houses away!

No power take off (obviously) but I use this for the garage. Same use case, attached to my chop saw etc, Sucks up anything and the filter doesn’t get damages.

This is my dodgy DIY dust extractor/cyclone setup inspired by this YT video

It uses Screwfix Titan vacuum with an auto start power take off. I bought when I was renovating my old house and a cheap Amazon cyclone. Treated it to a Cen-Tec hose/adapter set and my mate has 3D printed me an adapter for the hose/cyclone connection.

It works a treat but please don't examine my suspect "carpentry" too closely!!! Whistle

Does the Cyclone make much of a difference over just the standard vac.? I use a couple of titan ones for a chop saw and router but the biggest issue is the cartridge filter clogs quite quickly without a bag.

Yes, the majority of the dust ends up in the top container and very little in the vacuum itself. There's quite a few videos on YT showing how efficient the cyclone is at trapping the dust. Here's a couple I found while researching:

Definitely recommend a metal drum. The plastic one I had originally imploded. Followed this YT video for the bin but found it cheaper here: https://www.patrico.co.uk/steel/open-top-d...N-approved

I also put a MDF stiffener on the top of the barrel as the lid was a bit thin.
