Started the usual web trawl and have to say I'm leaning towards Subaru Legacy or Forester as something a little bit different, good solid motors and good VFM compared to many old ex-family smokers knocking around.

Couple of 4x4 X-Types also in the frame.

Legacy or Forester would be my choice - good service history and some nice examples around at sensible money
