Anybody got a 2016 D4 landmark in santorini black or waitomo grey for sale? Must have a black interior trim
I’m looking for something with around 40k miles. Ideally it would have 360 cameras.
King Regards, doggydog.

Hope you find what you’re looking for
Do you have previous experience of the surround cameras on a D4? 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: 2 x FL2 as “second” cars 🙄

Hi,
I’ve driven a D4 with them but that’s as far as my experience goes. I had a D3 before and thought it would be quite useful to have them on my next Disco. Most of the other bits I want can be retro fitted but I think the cameras would be cost prohibitive.

My experience of D4 surround camera systems is that I’m glad none of mine had that option.
It’s a poor system, at least on the three I used it was and if a camera needs replacing they cost a bomb. Although maybe there’s now a cheaper source.
The one time it would have been useful was an occasion on Salisbury Plain and the camera lenses were covered in a film of thin mud and thus of no use. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

I’ve owned one with them and I, like a lot of others, have found the image quality to be absolutely dire. Certainly not good enough to use as a driving aid, even at parking speed. The cameras at the front corners are terribly vulnerable too. One of mine had the lens broken by a someone just washing the car and it was around £500 to replace just the one camera.
The image quality of the reversing camera was even degraded over the standard system. I’d very respectfully suggest looking for one without it
A little light reading

Hmmm, interesting. I’ve skimmed through most of that and the general consensus is as you say, that they’re rubbish. That does bring a lot more cars in to my search!
Thanks for the info

As above, I've just sold my 2016 HSE Lux with surround cameras. I tried to get my money back for them as I paid for them as an Upgrade and in my view they were not fit for purpose. Didn't win and gave up trying to get the dealer to look at them. The way they fudged the multiple signals over the single feed (for the rear camera) and then overlayed the buttons created hazing, strange discolouration and the Rear View (which is excellent in the single camera system) was left terrible as a result.
In all honesty I would avoid them and not consider them a dealbreaker on spec.
Good luck with the search MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten
MY12 HSE - Gone
MY16 HSE Luxury - Sold
MY20 D5 HSE - Sold

When I purchased my D4 I tried, and succeeded in finding one without surround cameras, and certainly don't regret it. The dealers seemed to be very aware of the problems.
It's an excellent idea, but very poorly implemented, as others have said.

Yes, I can concur with the above comments. I have a 2016 Landmark, which has the surround cameras. They are absolute s*y*e! I had a 2010 HSE before with just the reversing camera, which was pretty clear. Land Rover must be the only company to make things worse with their “improvements”!
I’ve driven cheap runabouts with better cameras!

Hi Red Merle, I went for a car from a main dealer. More than I wanted to spend but it had 28,000 miles and a warranty so that gives some peace of mind for the first year.
For all those who commented on the cameras, yep you’re right they’re almost not fit for purpose!
The one I drive with cameras previously was a 2011 and they were ok. Later ones do indeed seem to have taken a step backwards.
Regards dogggdog.

Nice Have you taken delivery yet and if so, what's it like to drive in comparison?

Haven’t got it yet. Hopefully it will be picked up on Friday. Driving it feels much the same as the D3. Same driving position obviously, just a bit quicker and a bit more refined. To be fair my old disco was approaching 150k this one has 28k. I’ll know more when I get to play with it a bit. A little disappointed the cubby fridge doesn’t come as standard on the landmark edition but if it bothers me enough, I’ll fit one
Regards, doggydog .
