Electrics are more of an issue with the D3. Many fault codes on a crossing. Dealer said theey have replaced one where water got in when washing the engine bay with a jet wash.
Sealed mine with a pasticote spray.
Haven't tested yet though.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Just one thing to check before wading. Make sure that the rubber seal covering the spare wheel lowering mechanism in the boot is in place and well seated. This is all that prevents mud/water from entering your vehicle on a steep exit from mud pool/river etc.
Done the float / extended mode thing! Turned left in the mud pool for the quick exit when everyone else was turning right ! Vehicle stated to float, reverse gear selected, wheels just spinning, panic setting in (brand new car!) then the D3 did its magic, stamped its feet and pulled me out of the mess. There's one wheel on my wagon, but i'm still rollin' along, it's the cherokee, they're after me, but I'm singing a happy song
