Viscous fan tool

A tall ask I know but I don’t suppose anyone in the Milton Keynes/Northampton area has a viscous fan removal tool for a tdv6 engine? Alternator in the wife’s car is shot and none of the usual tricks are working, it’s that stuck I have bent a 10mm spanner into a right angle trying to undo it.

I have a tool for a V8 rangie but it doesn’t fit and I was going to get this done over the weekend. If it’s local I could potentially combine with my shopping trip to buy/borrow.

Wife is a key worker so ideally I’d like to get her car on the road without having to wait for one to arrive in the post but she can borrow my car so it’s not the end of the world if I have to wait.

Cheers in anticipation.

I'm confused, what are you doing with a 10mm spanner?

This may assist

Heres my homemade tool, that I used recently when I was replacing the alternator, worked fine.

Remember the fan nut is a left hand thread

You do know it's left hand thread.
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Yeah I know it’s left hand thread. The 10mm spanner was me trying to use the boots on the pulley as an anchor with a 10mm spanner to work against the force of the coupling nut. This was suggested on a thread I read on here. I’m now resorting to drilling 2 new holes in my v8 viscous spanner to adapt it to fit the tdv6 as well. Wish me luck!
