VIN / Oil pump version (bit confused tbh) |
|
Hi all,
I've searched and found some info on VIN to pump version from another post, but to be honest i dont fully get what my VIN is telling me when i compare to the info i found.
So to quote from another post:
"Part number LR007131, ( superceeded to LR013487) 8a457086 to 9a508509....
Part number LR007798 (superceeded to LR013487) 9a508510 to 9a510121..
Part number LR013487 9a510122 on, inc 3.0. "
Sorry, i didnt record the OP.....
I've got an 09 D3. I have the VIN from the windscreen, so which bit do i need to be looking at to check what oil pump 'should' have been fitted from factory?
Any advice gratefully received!

Its no good checking the vin because they all do not seem to be what LR say they are. Some vin's that are supposed to be ok are not, and others in the vin range have a modified pump fitted.
I have had early MY2009's with good and bad oil pump casings, and later ones with the weak ones fitted.
The only sure way to see and check if you have the latest/strongest Oil pump casing fitted it to physically check it by removing the front Cam belt cover.

I have placed a new oil pump 1 month ago in the official service, my car is a MY06 (6A), and the pump is exactly 28LR123716, is the last! lost in translation!
