Vibration/humming from air suspension?! |
|
Hi all,
My D4 got a puncture last Tuesday, and On-Time came out to fix it via the AA. Took the guy a few attempts to get the jack on, but eventually all sorted.
Next morning I notice a vibration and only yesterday figured out where it's coming from - when I press the higher/lower suspension the humming/vibration subsides, and only seems to happen when it's at normal height setting.
I'm off to Dublin on Thursday and I think I had better get it checked before I set off. No warning/fault lights, and otherwise running just fine.
Any ideas, please do share? Could the guy have damaged the air suspension somehow?
Thanks, emer.

Sounds like he may have jacked it up on the compressor housing cover and broken the bracket

Get it checked out then take it up with LRA if you went through them for the puncture?

It was the air compressor bracket, and I sent a stinker of a letter to the aa along with a photo of the bracket and the invoice which read 'broken by roadside assistance incompetence'!!!
Refunded the 170.
Thanks all. Feel I would have had to book it in and pay for investigations had I not said what I thought it was.

Hi
it makes you wonder why LR employ such contractoirs when results like this happen. i appreciate it is down to costs, but what damage does this do there reputation?
have had reason to call LR on several occasions for all the LR we have had, when the RAC / AA turn up, they are politly told to leave, and a call is made to assisstance again to explain why. we then get ba technitian! Cheers
