Various failures and a fix !

Hi all,

I was going to post this tomorrow when I had a bit more detail but having read a number of threads I thought I would post my story and fix.

I have a TDV6 S which had numerous issues, such as,

random parking brake errors,
stereo locking up,
gear selection display, slow or not working,
no reversing lights, or park sensors,
very erratic idle,

All of these faults were corrected by what I believe is called Disk 8, a new software load. It took the delaer almost a week to obtain this and a day to load it but it does seem to have cured all of the faults.

I also saw a memo from Landrover that details the availability of the Settings menu, it is chassis number dependent.

Having owned every other model of disco over the last 11 years and never really had a problem this was an issue! In the first two weeks of ownership the dealer had the car more than me.

One thing I did find was that a direct call to Land Rover via the number on their website did haelp. They spoke to the dealer within minutes of my call.

I am very happy with the car now though.

Please email me if you want more detail,

regards

Chris

I must admit, it is good and reassuring to hear some positive feed back.

Was your Disco one that you had acquired very recently i.e. in the last few weeks?

Simon,

yes, picked up on the 31st March. First failure after about a week which was the parking brake fault. Went downhill from there!

Although with the new software everything at the moment is excellent. I lost the settings menu but for me that is not a big issue.

The dealer and LandRover have been very helpful.

regards

Chris
