Interesting advisories........arms maybe?!

Also am I right in saying these windows are not factory tinted as you can see the orange lines on the rear windows? I'm guessing HSE spec should be factory tint?

Yeah, if you see the orange lines the tint is most likely on the inside of the glass as a film.
Since it’s a D4, you can see the factory configuration by entering the vehicle’s VIN on TOPIx. It’ll show whatever it left with from the factory. Lines with “LESS x ...” mean it does not have that option.
It could be arms, of course, but it could also just be in need of an alignment. It should be relatively easy to determine whether there is play or not if you get the vehicle on a lift.

Mines a 60 plate D4 Hse but didn’t have rear tints 😀
It is, of course, now due an MoT, so any deal should be on the basis that the test is done & all advisories fixed, using JLR parts before you take the car.
I see the vendor is offering a 90 day/3000 miles warranty, subject to Ts&Cs. I would try to get a them to pay a percentage of the cost of a decent warranty, someone like Warranty Direct, for when that expires.

Thanks for the info Kajtzu, like you say hopefully it's just the wheel alignment out.
Good to know not all HSE's had factory tint I was thinking the window had been broken and that one window bodged in with an aftermarket tint!!
The mot is valid until October 19. Good idea on warranty.......WD is a must for me with a vehicle I can actually get it on!
The bloke told me they always do three things when they get a disco in, reset the handbrake, smoke test it and I can't remember the third! He said it failed the smoke test so is having a new inlet manifold as we speak. It has just had a new compressor also.
Anything ringing any alarm bells with what I've said or from the advert?!

You know what they say causes that don’t you NJSS?!!
The service schedule states 112k for belts but doesn’t mention a time frame, as in 7 years. Does that mean it is just at 112k?
Also is the cracked inlet manifold common on these?

Yes, it’s 7 years.
Yes, the inlet manifold does seem common. Think it generally happens between 90 -110k miles. Mines on 95k

Ok so I need to ask that the belts have been done and that proof is available
I've now changed the title as I have a few (or a lot of) questions to ask!
Is the handling in the early D4's any different from the D3?
Is there still the space under the bonnet on the left to install another split charge battery?
Will my existing Altox FBH controller work with it?
That's it for now I think!!

On D4 you have to move relocate things in spare battery box to fit a spare battery up to MY14 which then had the stop start battery located in it..

Thanks Adam
What’s your views on this? Needs an mot (which he may do), needs the belts doing, is in good condition as he says, not excellent. And he won’t budge on the price!
