just had a visit actually from the Civils company that put the leaky water main in and a loss adjustor who happens to live on my road
Seems they are happy that the 2nd water main was at fault, and that it cascaded several hundreds/thousands of litres of water down my drive and into my house
The loss adjustor is calling me back tomorrow, but first needs to speak to my neighbour who also got a little wet; and then if the Civils company are happy - we can send them a list of the damaged items and they will send us a cheque for the required amount
Helped that i had photos of the damage and also that my local Community Support Policeman was a witness to the flooding and a witness to the water ingress into my garage....
Will wait and see what they say tomorrow.
Walmsleys - used a broker once for insurance - but he was most interested in lining his own pockets with the commission rather than giving me the best product. So went elsewhere instead.... just liek i'll be doing when thei debacle is sorted.
Thanks for the PM's from a few people offering support - it's appreciated

Glad it's been sorted out - insurers can be a nightmare to deal with - I guess brokers are like car dealers - can be good or bad. 2013 D4 HSE Luxe in Indus Silver
