Both the Kia Sorento and Hyundai Sante Fe (new shape) are fine motors. The Kia is pretty good off-road too. Both do very well in the JD Powers surveys and the Sorento wins in the 4x4 sector. Both depreciate a lot less than premium 4x4s and considering they are £15-20K cheaper, there is a lot less money loose in the 40% depreciation too over the first 3 years.
It's just badge snobbery that gets in the way.
It's not fair to compare them to a D3, but it is fair to compare them with a Volvo XC90 and they are at least £15K cheaper, higher spec, loose less, cost less to run and are more reliable. I can see that Sorento and Sante Fe owners have their own 'grin' too. Matt
