Can anyone answer the following:
If someone has a fault accident (they did it), if they reimburse the insurance company the full cost of the claim, does this mean they don't lose their no claims?
I know if works with 50:50 fault claims as I did it some years ago, but don't know about fault.
A kid has hit the other half's F2 and stoved in the rear bumper and Dad wants to pay rather than go via insurance due to NCB loss. Not keen but this might offer a way out.
Thanks Tony

Doubt it. It will still be treated as an accident regardless...
If you are happy that they are able to pay and will pay, then I wouldn't have a problem doing the deal direct with them.
Depends on your gut feel and how long you'll need a hire car for etc. Bodsys Brake Bible

No, but I wouldn't buy one off Ebay even if it was
Thanks for the responses.
Can't be bothered with yet more hassle. Direct Line got on and sorted the last one so will let them do the running round. We both work and have better things to do. Tough on them I know but this wasn't a light tap - to stove in a F2 bumper takes some force. Having streetview'ed the scene can't fathom what on earth he was doing to hit her like he did. Tony

chances are he was running on his parents insurance as a named driver but using the car full time - hence his reluctance to go through the insurance ie would not have any
Before you commit, ask for a copy of the insurance doc showing the son as the named driver plus a copy of the V5C if yer can, otherwise go thru the normal channels, when is your renewal due - if only a few months then you might want to get the cash of em otherwise you'll be paying a higher premium for next years insurance until the otherside coughs up, oh and you'll have to pay yer excess up front until that comes back

Character, you are quite right, but I can't be bothered. If the work turns out to be a lot more expensive than the original quote or they start to argue the toss etc etc then I don't want to get involved.
I know a bit about accident investigation so if he wants to argue it wasn't his fault he may find he's got much bigger problems than his insurance premium Tony
