UPDATE advice on cambelt change
After a week of phoning many many garages and finally spoke to landrover themselves
A dive was I must get the oil pump changed as well (on here and from some garages)
Well landrover and 3 very reputable landrover garage repair centres
Stated and I quote
"It's a red herring that you need to change oil pump as well, the only reason the oil pumps failed is due to ill fitting of cambelt by either owners or garages, if belt fitted correctly you do not need to change oil pump

go read the many many posts on here over the years relating to catastrophic failures after cambelt changes, which almost exclusively end in 'should have changed oil pump when cam belt was changed'
so you really want to shirk on a couple a hundred quid and risk a many thousand pound bill?Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

To suggest the pump needs changing would suggest there is an issue, which LR dealerships are not going to do.
Ignore them 2014 D4 XS

LR and their dealerships also can’t wait to charge customers an extortionate sum for a replacement engine / fitting etc ........Listening to them would be extremely foolish D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. RRS front lower suspension arms. New suspension compressor/ relay. New Denso alternator. CuNifer rear brake pipes. New GKN rear propshaft. New HPFP belt & tensioner. New A/C Condenser.NO WARRANTY for many many years.

Its all about peace of mind Speaky
You are going to be paying a big lump to garage to do the belts and the extra cost for replacing the oil pump is minor as most of the labour cost is included in the belt change.
Then you know that's one more thing that (hopefully) won't go wrong Uncle Ray's spare wheel protector

Blackvue front & rear dashcam

Ask these very reputable independents and Landrover themselves that if they fit your new cam belt etc and your original oil pump fails later will they stand over the work and fit a new engine. I bet not
05 and 06 models are still susceptible to oil pump failure.
For the relatively low additional cost, its a no brainer to have it replaced at the same time
If you don't do it you could regret it.
Your engine will benefit from a new oil pump, better pressure, sooner on start-up.

This from the same people that say the gearbox is sealed for life. Stay away from any main dealer.

If and only if, you are changing through age and not mileage and you have the later pump fitted and you are not thinking of keeping it for another 100k miles you could get away with it(ducking), you don’t mention either.
This is where an oil pressure gauge comes in handy
Disco_Mikey says all D3 model years without the stronger pump are susceptible not just 05-06 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

I've personally never had a customer suffer an oil pump failure on ANY 2.7 after replacing the belts, EU3 or EU4...
[/whisper]
Even before snapped oil pump casings were a thing. However, for piece of mind, its a no brainer to have the stronger pump fitted, just in case
And this doesn't allow for any failures that happened to cars that have NOT had a belt change, of which I have seen quite a few...My D3 Build Thread
As we have all said many times if you don't upgrade the oil pump it's at your own risk.
